Bess has been performing professionally for over 30 years. After earning an MFA from the National Theater Conservatory her primary creative focus became solo performance. She has toured original work nationwide and has performed with established companies in a variety of contemporary and classical roles. Favorites include Halvard Solness in Ibsen’s The Master Builder and Corryn in Johnna Adams’ Gidion’s Knot. Original solo work includes The Passion of the Hausfrau, Big Mouth Thunder Thighs, and Legbala is a River. Bess co-wrote/adapted, performed, and produced seven episodes of Hausfrau: The Webseries. She also performed in the world-premiere of her award-winning play with songs, Death Wings.
