Bess has been teaching theater classes and workshops for adults and kids for over 20 years. Her major areas of focus are Voice for the Stage/Public Speaking, Performing Shakespeare, Solo Performance Development, and Playwriting. She is also the creator and facilitator of the Your Inner Critic as Character Workshop, the Big Mouth Collective Residency, and the Activist Storytelling Workshop. She's been on the Theater Faculty at Colby College since 2010 and spent many years as a Teaching Artist in Portland Stage's Theater for Kids program. Bess also offers private voice coaching for anyone who wants to connect confidently and authentically with an audience of any kind.
